Chugachmiut Heritage Archive held a Sugpiaq weaving revitalization retreat in the fall of 2022 where elders from our region came and learned to weave from master weaver June Pardue. Sally Ash from Nanwalek, Colette Brantingham from Seward, Susan LaBelle from Port Graham and Anchorage, and Nancy Yeaton from Nanwalek all participated and helped to preserve the weaving tradition in our communities.
