Doris Venhuizen is interviewed in Sugt'stun by Herman Moonin on July 29, 2009.

"Doris Virginia Venhuizen (Ukatish), June 28th, 1951 - June 9, 2019. Born to Ralph and Nadia (Anahonak) Ukatish.

She was born and raised in Port Graham. In her younger years she help raise her other five siblings and enjoyed spending time with her grandmother and other elders in her community.

As a young adult she worked in the crab cannery in Seldovia and eventually moved to Anchorage working for a laundromat and ANMC. She later met her husband and had one daughter. She started working for Anchorage School District which she retired in Student Nutrition in 2003. She moved to Soldotna to become closer to family.

She loved visiting family, often telling funny stories in Suqstun over traditional foods and tea. She loved traditionally harvesting badarkies and fishing for salmon and halibut and teaching our Alutiiq traditions."
