This book explores the history, heritage, and traditional life of Alutiiq communities, predominantly from Kodiak Island and the Alaska Peninsula. The book's contents are broken down into the following chapters: Alutiiq Culture: Views form Archaeology, Anthropology and History; Contemporary Alutiiq Indentity; Cúmilalhet - "Our Ancestors"; Súgucihpet - "Our Way of Living"; Ukgqepet - "Our Beliefs" Alutiiq Spritiual Life and Traditions; and Alutiiq Paths. The book contains a wide array of historical photos, museum artifacts, anecdotes from researchers and community leaders, and anthropological writing about Alutiiq culture and way of life.
