Village Journey: The Report of the Alaska Native Review Commission


Written by Thomas R. Berger who was invited by the Inuit Circumpolar Conference to head the Alaska Native Review Commission, this report suggests changes in the law and public attitudes to benefit Native communities following the ANCSA settlement.

Report of Berger's review of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act of 1971. Besides analysing ANCSA, Berger also addresses other questions such as land, subsistence and the future of the villages, which were raised by Alaskan natives during his travels around Alaska.
