Beach Explorations: A Curriculum for Grades 5-10


This curriculum contains about 75 lessons and activities divided into the following sections: Planning and Organizing Field Trips, Explorign Seashores with Students, Plankton Soup: Microscopic Life of the Ocean, Food Relationships, Science Inquiries with Seashore Animals, Rocky Shores, The Cobblestone Beach, Sandy Shores, and Saltwater Wetlands. Natural history information is included on beach animals, plants, and habitats, for the teacher without a biology background. The book focuses on the Pacific Northwest and all lessons and activities can be completed in a six-week period.
