Port Graham Elders 3-30-00 IIA / Community Center Elders IIB
Lendy Eard records Vera Meganack translating women's Elder tea of 6/20/2005 - the women talk about the different colors (of berries?) how they eat them and ways that they could be used for medicinal purposes; A younger woman asks about stories of shapeshifting or powerful sea animals; They talk about how when killer whales (orcas) enter the bay it means that somebody is going to die, including personal anecdotes about someone who died after the killer whales came into the bay. They specifically talk about the eyes of an orca and the power of an orca watching a person.
