Brandon Moonin: Naniq - Seal Oil Lamp in Sugt'stun
Raymond Eric Clock: Seal oil and moss can be used to light the lamp.
Vincent Evans: moss from spruce trees.
Brandon Moonin: The wick can also be made from dried grass.
John Johnson: Lamp can be used when hunting. You can start a fire in them by rubbing two sticks together.
Raymond Eric Clock: Small lamps for hunting trips. I have a friend who is a hunting guide for goat and he gets stuck in the mountains sometimes and you don’t want to climb down in the dark. He will put a blanket on top of himself and a lamp between his legs to keep him warm to survive the night but would wake up with a black face from the smoke.
Dawn Randazzo: In the World Eskimo Indian Olympics the seal oil lamp is watched by an elder to make sure that it doesn’t go out.
